Any registered business that sells halal food, household essentials, healthcare items, or other relevant goods can apply to become a supplier on 5alas. We prioritise businesses that operate ethically and share our mission to support communities through local mosques. Suppliers must be able to deliver reliably and meet our basic quality and compliance standards.
When a donor places an order that includes your product, you'll be notified through your supplier dashboard. You then prepare the item and arrange for it to be delivered to the selected mosque — either personally or using a reliable courier or delivery service. Once the mosque confirms receipt, the donation is marked as fulfilled and your payment is processed.
Once your delivery has been confirmed by the mosque, your payment is processed within 3–5 business days. The amount you receive will reflect the 2.5% platform fee deducted after each successful delivery, as outlined in the supplier terms.
There is no fee to join or list your products. When a donor places an order — for example, £20 worth of bottled water — you deliver the full item value to the mosque. Once delivery is confirmed, 5alas deducts a small 2.5% platform fee (just 50p in this case), and the remaining £19.50 is transferred to you.
This fee helps cover payment processing and platform maintenance. We encourage suppliers to factor this fee into their listed prices, so that your margins are protected while ensuring full transparency for donors.
Mosques are automatically assigned to you based on your delivery location. We match suppliers to mosques within a 5-mile radius by default — this helps ensure fast delivery, strong local connections, and reduces carbon impact. If there are no mosques nearby, we may slightly extend the radius to maintain supply chain coverage, but always with sustainability in mind.
